Access to Enterprise Financial Data

SourceFrydman, Pistor, and Rapaczynski, Table 8.

A survey of managers of Russian voucher privatization funds indicates that access to companies' financial data is very limited. Almost 50% of the fund managers indicated that they have regular access to financial data in only some or none of the companies in their portfolio. Financial information, if disclosed, is almost exclusively divulged only to current shareholders. Additional information is often not available to shareholders. Moreover, a third of the respondents rated the accuracy of the information reported as poor, while less than a percent rated accuracy as good.
