Speedwing Consulting
Speedwing Consulting is a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airlines.
It provides independent consulting and managerial services to airlines
around the world. Initially Kenya Airways retained Speedwing consulting
to carry out a comprehensive diagnostic review of Kenya Airways' operations
and to present specific actions critical to establishing Kenya Airways
as a viable and profitable business. Subsequently Kenya Airways entered
into a service agreement with Speedwing Consulting. Under this agreement,
Speedwing Consulting provides management services aimed at rationalizing
the airline's operations and improving its competitive position and profitability.
Two members of Kenya Airways Management Team provide their services
under the terms of the current agreement: Brian
Davies (Managing Director and Chief Executive) and Malcolm
Naylor (Finance Director). Kenya Airways pays monthly fees to
Speedwing Consulting which include remunerations of these two individuals.
However, they are not under the management control of Speedwing Consulting;
rather, they report to the Board of Directors of Kenya Airways, which as
a body controls every decision affecting Kenya Airways.
