Mountain Climber

Our hero was not alone in seeking glory on the mountain.  Two other climbers had landed a WWI-style biplane halfway up the mountain.  From there they hoped to reach the summit ahead of our hero.  Despite clear advantages in physical stature, as apparent in the picture below, these climbers lacked the mental toughness that our hero had cultivated in his days as the finest football defensive end ever to run Duke cross-country.  The outcome was never in doubt.
